Share your photos of the Derby City Express!

I have set up an account where anyone attending the convention with a digital camera and computer/internet access can share photographs with the rest of us.

You can view, download, and upload photographs at this address:
http://gallery.mac.com/pauljdowns/100126

Please include a title and your name. Limit all photographs to those taken at the Derby City Express and related events.

If you experience any difficulty please let me know. This is the first time I've used .Mac for this and I'm not sure how it will behave on other computers, but if you just click on the Upload or Download buttons, the directions are pretty simple to follow.

I've posted my Thursday photos from the 2008 NSC and National N Scale Convention.

For me, the day was action-packed full from morning to night.  Meeting great people.  Having my mind expanded every minute.   Bob Knight's (TrainCat) clinic on building brass kits blew up my mind (that's good) on what is possible.  Great contest entries.   NTrak layout is being built, 700 modules worth.  Room Sales superb for visiting and socializing.  Visited with Charles Hopkins and saw his latest custom loco painting.   The pictures above represent sample of all of these and more:

And I have also uploaded these to Paul Down's collective web site of photos
of this convention, again, that URL where you can see photos from *many* attendees.
This is great because my photos only represent one small cross section of all
that is happening.  See that web site at:

Enjoy!

Outstanding, John.  Love the shots of the Clinchfield, would like to see more.  Wish I could be there to see it in person.  Thanks for being the Railwire's ambassador to the show!  Look for the Baltimore Area N Trak group...(Bantrak).  I know there's a couple of them there.

Long time no see, everyone.

Caught some of this for you Lee.  My apologies for quality--I'm not good at photography and somehow I've managed to make my camera shoot at lower resolution than it used to.

I got alot more, I'll try to post them when I get the chance.

Thanks, Norm!
But tell that guy to take minute and stick some plows on them, and paint the *&(&%^ handrails and grilles!  Geez!  I bet they're all the same unit number, too...  Urgggh.

The photos turned out pretty well... Thanks for thinking of me. :D  Wish I was there.

It's good to see that the N scale Clinchfield layout has not only survived to this day, but it appears to have significant upgrades to the scenery and train control (DCC).  Whoever is responsible for the upgrades did a really nice job and didn't revise the layout so much to lose the look of "Gordon Odegard's creation."  It's still clearly the same MR project layout from the late 1970s.

Posted Saturday pictures at to Paul Downs' web site for this thread, where you can see the *many* contributions from many, of many activities all over the convention!:

http://gallery.mac.com/pauljdowns#100126

(same Saturday photos also posted to my web site):

n_scale_convention_2008_saturday Photo Gallery by atsf_arizona at pbase.com

Enjoy!

As far as announcements, in the above pictures, you'll see that:

- Athearn is displaying pre-prod models of their N scale FP45 and F45
- PCM showed real pre-prod models of their PA1, so apparently project is moving forward
- Walthers / Lifelike had pre-production sample of Y3 2-8-8-2 running, sounds pretty good to me!

I'm sure there are many others, but these are a few that caught my eye.
