Looking for a Grill Detail Part

I'm hoping someone's having a better day of remembering parts than I am.  I'm wanting to bash a Power Car, the Stampede Pass, used by the BN in its' business fleet.

The grills being of course the most noticeable feature of these cars.  I can swear that I've seen that grill design, or at least something similar, used somewhere else.  But for the life of me I can't remember where.  And since I don't have a full-featured LHS here in Lincoln, I can't go digging around looking for something in a detail set that I might be able to use.

Does that particular grill design look familiar to anyone else that might be able to point me towards a detail set I could order and try to suit my means?

It's kinda off the wall, but you might want to look at Gold Medal Models and study some of the etched brass architectural parts.  I've found the venetian blinds to be excellent for various grill applications with a little trimming and glueing.  There's fencing, all kinds of stuff.  Anyway, don't just limit yourself to obvious diesel detail parts.    A fence with a fine background mesh maybe?

Oh I definitely don't limit myself when looking for parts.  I've got drawers full of all sorts of parts for all sorts of scales/purposes.  But I haven't been able to find anything that looks like it'd work for this power car in my stock.

Back when I was in DFW, and I could hit up a couple well-stocked hobby shops, browsing for detail parts was never a problem.  Now though, with an LHS with virtually no N-scale, and no N-Scale detail to speak of, I can't do that.  I have to find what I want online and I'll go to the LHS just to order the stuff and send some business their way.  But 'browsing' for detail parts online is nearly impossible, as most of the time you can't even see a picture of what you're buying, and if you can at all it's large enough to really see what you're buying.  Whenever I go back to the HQ in Fort Worth I always make sure I stock up on various detail parts and styrene sheets that I don't have -- not so much because I need the parts (though I don't buy anything I don't expect to use at some point), but because I need an inventory of stuff to look through so that when I am building something, I can pull out all my labeled Plastruct sheets and figure out which one is the one I want and then go order a bunch through the LHS here in Lincoln.

ALL that said though, the venetian blind thing is a real good idea.  I'll have to check that out.  Combined with some styrene strips I think I could do a pretty reasonable approximation.

It's such a large piece, you might find it with HO locomotive grills etchings....

For example - I once found HO roofwalk etched pieces to be perfect for some project...

I recommend trying to find HO grills for an F unit. I thought Plano used to etch them, but they're not on their web site.

N-scale supply still lists Plano F unit intake grills. You want the ones that aren't FARR style.

BTW: They are on the Plano site, choose N-scale, then E&F intake grills.

JnJ also makes them:

But I was referring to HO grills, which aren't on Plano's site.
