Seeing as how you guys are all probably doing strange things with turkeys, I thought I'd get things moving.

On 8 November, Genesee & Wyoming celebrated 10 years down under. Today I was invited down to the local Islington Workshops to take some official portrait photos of newly overhauled and repainted CLF5.

Cheers, Wes

Here is another one I won on E-bay:

Youngstown Municipal Railway #856 @ Campbell, OH 1939 in 1940 their Streetcars were discontinued.

The background would not have changed for a few miles. It was steel mills back-to-back, back then.

Here's something a little different. Here is a MOW crane that sits down in Upper Marlboro, MD. I shot this back in August after leaving the credit union/courthouse. It sits alongside the CSX right of way. I don't know anything about it or if its still functional.

Bob, great shots. Are these from Cove Rd. over near North Point Edgemere? It looks like the Key Bridge in the background.

I saw a bunch of those GATX hoppers in the 3800 series a couple weeks ago over by Hollins Ferry Rd.

Jeff,

Glad that photo helps.  ;D I thought it was an interesting car, so I got it. Funny, it was a whirlwind photo expedition as I was on my way home from central PA.

Cool. In what year are you depicting it?

Current day just like the above photo. Actually the one I'm modeling is this one here:
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=693435

Very early stages of the other "fantasy" side:

It has fantasy reporting marks to represent a fellow modeler/weatherer in Mexico.
It's a very old Athearn BB car that I decided to make lemonade with.

NANDW!

Thanks for posting the EX-Boise Cascade (?), EX-Minnesota, Dakota &
Western box car (?) because  I've been searching for a match for the E&C
Shops kit I own. All the MDW cars (like this) I've found so far had one less
rib and white doors. These cars with the extra rib and green doors match
the model more closely. Plus, it led me to find out about the Texas,
Oklahoma & Eastern which I never heard of until now! The ends don't
match but I might go ahead with it because these cars have a killer fade.
A couple more can be found on the Fallen Flags site. In other photos, I
see a reddish color coming through on the ends. Hmmmmm. Primer maybe?
I can't believe there were any other owners besides those mentioned. It
didn't look like rust either. Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud.   :P   That
box car is a long way from home.

Jeff (MrKLUKE)

It's an FMC 50' high-cube car. I'm not 100% sure, but weren't the E&C cars a slightly later Gunderson (very similar design, I think Gunderson/Greenbrier bought FMC so the design would be based off this earlier car) with the fat rib above the truck bolsters similar to the Gunderson Paper svc. boxcar Walthers has in HO? (I don't know if E&C had more than one variation.)

The car might also be ex-IBT rather than MDW. They also had the large Boise Cascade tree logo on their boxcars. Might. It could very well be MDW.
