Sn3 from PBL

I received a Sn3 SPNG boxcar from PBL yesterday.  The kit features a ton of detail parts and is very nicely molded.  I like the fact that the grab iron fittings are molded on, but I was a little surprised to learn that I have to form my own grabs. :(  What was really nice are the instructions: the best I have ever seen, and even specific to the prototype.

PBL is a very professional company their included catalog is a work of art.

Try 'em out. ;D

As a D&RGW narrow gauge fan, PBL is well known.  Though I haven't built stuff in Sn3, I admire their products.

Forming your own grabs is pretty common.  That was required with all the HOn3 cars I've built.  It's not too time consuming to get them right.  These are two Precision Scale HOn3 injection molded car kits.

This handrail on this tank car was quite a challenge.

Hey Tom, ask them to send you a issue of their "Dispatch" you will be hooked on Sn3 forever!!!  But then again most of their locomotives are over $1000.00.

All worth it though  ;)

UP_Modeler left N scale for Sn3.  Didn't do anything for his personality though...

Tom,

PBL does sell packages of pre-formed grabs -- including the uncoupling lever which, depending on the car, can be a bit tricky to bend.
