OK, MEC afficionados.... got a question for you. My faded memory remembers seeing a few MEC side dump (Difco?) ballast cars on Commercial street in Portland many years ago. I remember they were black but aforementioned faded memory does not remember any of the reporting marks, whether they had MEC in letters or the rectangular herald. Can any one help??? Got a picture??

I think there are 1 or 2 photos on NERAIL of them when they were ballasting the Mountain Division....I think they just had the MEC in the standard MOW stencil.

Thanks, very much. I searched all over NERAIL but, no luck. Not an exact match for Walther's Difco but, close enough, as they say. I appreciate all the help.

I searched NERAIL and it was the wrong cars....I thought the side dumps were on there but I guess not, just the green hoppers.
