A little butter and a dash of sugar and grits are heaven in a bowl. Spent my share of time in the South..
You`ll never find a Philly cheese steak on a menu in Philadelphia. It`s called a cheesesteak and we all know where it`s from...

Remember, the N&W was still running steam in 1960... Your Yankee ways and New technology ain't readily accepted down south...

Not an entirely accurate depiction of the N&W.  :-X I'll leave it at that. ;D

Can't blaim them - I love sweet tea, especially with some Southern Comfort.  Still can't figure out what the hell grits are tho!

Well, then you're missin' one o' the treats of the South, like shrimp and cheese grits. Grits are unground corn meal, BTW. With a pond of melted butter in the middle of 'em and some scrambled eggs and pork sausage, they're a great, if murderously unhealthy, good ol' Southern breakfast!  :P :P

I know what they are.  Just being a smarta$$ Yankee.  Spent 3 years in Charleston, SC and had my share.  Best I ever had was a breaking of eggs, country ham, grits with red eye gravy.  The gravy made the meal.  Grits are basically ground up hominy, which I also dont' care much for.

Ah, yes, I guess NS's response to AC current is "what's that?" :D

Of course, aren't the eastern roads the only ones to have 80MACs?

What's the real difference btw them and 90MACs?

CR was the only road to order the 80MACs. They picked up 28, then opted for the 2 demonstrators. CR actually did order another 30, but NS and CSX had hissyfits and the order was changed to 22 SD70s for NS and 15 SD70MACs for CSX.

The only external difference between the 80MAC and 90MAC is the rear sandbox on the 90MAC extends the entire height from the walkway to the dynamic brake fan. The 80MAC has a shorter sandbox to allow for the trademark CR class lights.
