Some more shots of the Apalachicola Northern a quarter century ago, when it had lots of business.

Two of AN's three cabooses. These were ex-WM cabooses. Last used in the mid-1970's:

Side view of GP15-T 720, posed new alongside First Street for the Port St. Joe community to admire:

Head on view of No. 729. Note the elaborate striping beside the coupler. The building to the left is the AN-St. Joe Paper Co. General Office Building.:

Will have still more AN next week.

If it were 3 weeks ago, there would be a red building here:

The place Milwaukee.  Took the car ferry to Ludington, MI.  First photo from the dock.  Second from the car loading area on the ferry.  Photos taken Sept 1973.

Look like it's got a flat tire to me. Not unheard of...

Tom's pic looks so sureal, my mind has problems differentiating between model and reality.

I've managed a couple of business trips over to Melbourne in the last couple of weeks and grabbed a few shots between meetings....

A few more to come next week.

The last time I hit Sterling was at the beginning of this month. On my way out
there, I heard the Q137 clear Warwick just to my northeast, & I wondered if I'd
beat it there. (if i didn't, no big deal since it's an intermodal train-not much in
the way of cool weathered car prototypes) As I came thru town, 137 was just
heading thru, & stopped me at the gates. Again, no big deal, but she did me a
favor in the process. As I approached the "Loop", I looked over saw a "snout"
on the old CL&W from the north. The Q641 was holding for the 137, & ready
to head east. I was able to park, get out & get my cam going just as she had
her orders to proceed. True, in the process I left the door to my truck open,
but what the hell. The 640 (northbound) & the 641 (southbound) have good
mixes of cars, but usually the same roadnames & types. But they do go past
at a slow speed, so usually a good source of weathering proto pics.

August may be the month for the old CPLs to come down here. All the equipment is
there ready to be installed, & to my knowledge, only 1 signal base has been installed
so far (just to the back of this pic-not in view) So get pics while you can!

They're not "Crown Victorias"-they're known
as "Police Interceptors"
