MSE #60 was trapped inside a on-line customers facility during Hurrican Katrina a few years back & was under water for a unknown amount of time.
It's disposition is unknown...But I understand that a hhistorical society is trying to work out something with the railroad to save it as a static display.
I'll try to find out more.
Locomotive history...
MSE #60, GP9M, was built new for MSE by Electro-Motive in October 1957.
Frame #23985. It was rebuilt in December 1973.

Thanks for the good comments guys.
This is a vital link along the Mississippi gulf coast & would make a great modeling project in any scale.
The possibilities are endless!!!
A quote from their about us page...
Headquartered in Moss Point, Mississippi Export Railroad is a 42-mile short line railroad extending from Evanston, MS to the north and Pascagoula, MS to the south. We are the north-south corridor connecting the Canadian National Railroad (CN) and the east-west line of CSX Transportation (CSXT). These connections and their alliances link the Gulf to all points on the Continent, coast to coast, and into the heartland of the United States through to Canada and Mexico.
Unlike most short line railroads, Mississippi Export's track is maintained to accommodate unit trains with loads up to 286,000 lbs/car. The MSE owns and operates their own railcar/locomotive repair and maintenance shop, while tending their five locomotives as well. MSE also has several team tracks used for commodity transfers while maintaining and constructing abundant track space for empty or loaded railcar storage.
