Hmmm... I don't think I've ever done anything dumb.  ::) I wish.

Not modeling related, but just yesterday I was working on some custom cabinets for a customer and cut a $100 sheet of furniture-grade hickory plywood to 80" long when it was supposed to be 84".  Talk about pissed.  It's a 20 minute drive to my plywood supplier and I cut the sheet 15 minutes before they closed for the day, and I was supposed to deliver the cabinet today.  Guess what I'm taking a break from right now?

 ;D You mean dumb, as in really stupid with a Dremel?

Cutting an MTL Caboose shell for splice work with a Gyros thin kerf blade, and holding the shell in your hand.

Halfway through the cut, the shell pinched the blade, and it popped out of the cut, then the Dremel drove the blade all around the outside parameter of the shell in super fast 3 millisecond loop. Oops, half of my index finger "fingernail" used to be in the way! :o

I notched a finger with a small table saw once.  Bone showing and everything, yet oddly enough narry a drop of blood.  It didn't hurt until about an hour and a half later, either, though once it started it really hit me. :'( :-X  :o

Then there was the time I put the soldering iron on a car I had spent two weeks weathering and detailing... >:(

I've also epoxied a wheelset to the underside of a flatcar ::)

You`ll never find a Philly cheese steak on a menu in Philadelphia. It`s called a cheesesteak and we all know where it`s from...

Recently, I was putting together a Blair Lines Cash Mine and glued on a wall the wrong way. It was just before lights out and I left it to dry overnight. Quel dommage.

I think I'm up to 85 Stupid Mistakes, although some numbers have been assigned to others who have reached the epitome, or nadir, of stupidity.

I think someone once said "If you don't make mistakes, we aren't doing anything." or something like that. I must be doing a lot.

Howzabout running a number 17 X-acto knife blade thru your thumb while carving off detail parts? Blade went in one part of the thumb, out another, almost slicing off a chunk of meat. Still have that chunk on my thumb, but there's no feeling in it. Finished doing the detail work on that blood-covered diesel shell several weeks later, after I found where I threw it in frustration.
