His photography is awful; you can not see too well what he wants you to buy. If I were to buy brass, I decidedly would not buy it if I could not at least see it.
He has a Baldwin DS 4-4-6 in lightning stripes. No NYCS DS 4-4-6 (NYCS class DES-10) had lightning stripes. The only yard goats on the NYCS that had lightning stripes were the FM H12-44s (NYCS class DES-17) and certain Indiana Harbor Belt yard goats. The DES-17s had the standard freight black body with grey stripes and white highlights. The IHB lightning stripe scheme was a variation: the carbody was Pacemaker Green with a thinner orange lightning stripe.
The brass Niagaras and Mohawks have reputations as good runners. I would like H-10s, as the P&LE had them, but the Key H-10s have only three speeds: very fast, still-too-fast and not-at-all. Mohawks did run frequently on the P&LE, but I am more interested in pacifics and mikados.
Perhaps one of these days, someone will do a decent H-10. I would expect one of those before a K5b or K-6, as the H-10s were everywhere on the NYCS. The K-6s were first on the B&A, then packed off to the P&LE, which, in turn, sents its K-5bs to the Big Four. The arrival of the seventy-five inch drivered hudsons on the B&A rendered the K-6s surplus.
I saw the guy's feedback, too. He has no bad feedback in the last year. His feedback as a buyer seems to be all good. It appears that the bad feedback that he received as a seller is due either to his not knowing what he was selling or failure of item to arrive at buyer's address. His rebuttals do not always appear relevant to the complaint.
Thanks for the 'heads', though.
