Not quite the Northeast Corridor but close.  Ex-Reading, Conrail patch job.  Photo taken at Va Ave Tower, Wash, DC.


That tower is scheduled to be demolished soon .. better grab the pics while you can ... also, CPLs are coming down at Ft Meade Junction soon .

Thanks for the info on the tower.  Didn't realize it was going to be demolished.  I did notice new signals lieing on the ground ready to replace the position lights.  Used to hang out there alot. One or the operators was a close friend and worked various shifts at VA Ave and other towers.  He was a big WM fan.   What a difference 30 years makes.  Go railfanning around the tower now and Homeland Security or some other security agency would be on you like a ton of bricks. If anyone is interested I also have some photos from the same timeframe of Southern RR trains in and around Alexandria, VA.
