I was just looking at that photo the other day (I have this addiction to the RP.net recent additions page...).
I think the autumn color would definately be the place to start for that. You can always drybrush/airbrush it to get the color right.

I bummed a couple of patches off a buddy when I was dummying up a quick diorama for a photo shoot. This is my amatuer photo. The real photos were much better.
