Please let the GE's be closer to 2026.   I need a bunch of them and I fear I'll have to just sit on the sidelines and watch them sell out if they start hitting in the next 6 months.

I really want to get one of the Rio Grande tunnel motors, but there aren't any bethgons or quads available for them to pull.  I tried to get a certain mfg of quad hoppers to do some in Z, but it went from a definite maybe to unlikely to sorry no over the past couple of years.   I have someone willing to print them, but I don't have a file or drawings.  So, if anyone can assist I'm all ears.

Or do you mean road specific to the Rio Grande?

Or do you mean road specific to the Rio Grande?

Specific to any train that would typically have Rio Grande tunnel motors in the mix and that route into Texas...a quite small list.   I would of course entertain stretching the truth a bit, but in reality, we're talking about two coal trains:
1. UP CCTX "Coleto Creek" -  These are mostly solid sets of bethgons, aluminum with red and black ends.   These would be simple to make if I ever get around to doing decals.  In the meantime I would be extremely happy to substitute the AZL "CHTT" cars.   But, alas, I have purchased every single one of these I've ever seen/heard of for sale since getting into Z in 2015, and I've amassed a grand total of FOUR.    :)   Not a very exciting unit train.   UP ran this train down the former FW&D line and while I never saw anything on these trains other than AC4400's or similar, I would probably fudge and run a tunnel motor.  If I was desperate I could get some of the UP bethgons to mix in, which would be pretty believable if not accurate, but we'll see.
2. UP "Midlothian" coal train.  This is similar to a number of similar trains across the UP system that utilized a dog's breakfast of quad hoppers from DRGW, UP, CNW, MP, et al.   These trains used tunnel motors or other 70s power early on but it would still be a pretty good anachronism to use them for my 2007-ish timeframe...yet I'd still do it if these cars were available.

The more legit use for a Rio Grande tunnel motor in 2007 would just be on a general manifest freight train, which UP also ran on the FW&D with decent regularity.    The DRGW unit would be a rarity in any of these cases, but not impossible, and I just happen to love the tunnel motors and wouldn't mind having one or two in the mix...maybe an SP or UP as the second.  But I'm trying to be careful with purchases for a number of reasons right now, not the least of which is the looming C44-9W and AC4400's.   So I go back to, if bethgons or quads were available I would be more willing to add a fringe piece.
