My newstand project made it into the new RMC. Don't tell anyone, but it took more than an evening.

So is this like a one night stand?
Looks awesome, and I bet it took a more long-term involvement...

Doug, I really like the way you modeled the street and curbing/sidewalk.

The newsstand and the whole scene look terrific!
-
Congratulations on the article. That's a great looking scene.

When I tried to submit an article like that to Kalmbach a while ago it was rejected because of the commercial signage - particularly the "Coke' sign, that they said they couldn't run in a magazine for copyright issues. I'm glad RMC took this one.

This is some of the best urban modeling I've ever seen in N scale. It is a rare talent who can build a model and have it shown 4 times real size in a national magazine. I still feel certain I've had lunch in the diner next door. Or at least a Coke on a hot summer day.

Thanks for the comments. After seeing what DKS was doing, N scale magazines didn't seem so crazy.
-
Well deserved, Doug. Congratulations!

Very nice, Doug! :) You guys never cease to impress! 8)

For the next project, someone needs to make an N scale customer reading the magazine article about building the newsstand, similar to people who've built models of houses with a model railroad in them.

@DKS would build it with the customer turning the page. @Ed Kapuscinski would want it to be a porn magazine. :D
