Greetings all.
This is purely a selfish question for me (I model June 1991), but maybe you can pretend it is a fun contest. What is the latest date - that you have or that you know of - of a photograph of a non-fully enclosed autorack (such as CTTX or TTBX) in revenue service? I have September 1st 1990, Enola, p. 172 of Withers’ CR Motive Power Review 1986-1991. I’d like to get into summer 1991 if I could.

I have a photo of a loaded Conrail bilevel autorack on Conrail’s Pittsburgh Line at Wilmerding, PA on 12/02/95. It was a Conrail owned car (CR786501) that was loaded with Dodge vans. Thanks.

Love the challenge. Turns out I got some, if you trust the dates. Also, not 100% certain of 'revenue service.'

Got some ATSF ones as well, but I don't trust the dates so much.

The black CN ones pop up in 90s era videos all the time.
And yes, loaded with vans was how they stayed in service so long.
Lots of 91-93 examples here and Chris Butts is usually pretty good with his documentation:

We used those cars as late as 2000 while I was stationed at Fort Hood to move M998's (and all the misc variants) to Fort Irwin, CA for NTC rotations. The rail head was right behind my maintenance shop, so I was always poking my head out there to see who was moving in and out.
I don't have any photos because it was frowned upon at the time... :(
They came in all flavors as far as RR ownership...

Which cars? The ATSF ones? The pics did have military vehicles in them.

All of the above. :D
Mostly ATSF racks, but do remember seeing the occasional east coast RR's like the L&N, C&O, NW, etc...

This is all awesome.
I’m gonna need a multi-pack of 1991 Chrysler vans now....
