Title: Demise of Google Plus Photos?
Post by: nscaleSPF2 on July 29, 2015, 05:38:09 PM
I have heard rumors that Google Plus will cease to exist at the end of this month.  No official word from Google on this, but then I would not expect the hear anything from them, given their past lack of customer support.  They already transferred the photos that I have posted to this forum from Google Plus to Google Photos.

The problem is that the "shareable links" provided in Google Photos are not in the .jpg format that this forum requires.  So I am afraid that all of my posted photos will disappear, and I will have to find another service to post future images.

This same issue may apply to Picasa (which is also owned by Google) in the future.

Any advice?

Umm, excuse the lame question, but how does one do that?
I absolutely hate having some impersonal entity which may or may not be around next year hosting my pics in the "cloud"...

Yeah, just login to picasaweb and it's all the same pictures as google photos except you get the right links to post here.
