Just ran across this.

Interesting KCS rib side boxcar. Anybody know anything about this? Looks stenciled for some specific service.
Best wishes, Dave

"When empty return to agent CMStP&PRR Amana Iowa."
The car is assigned to the Amana refrigerator company pool.

Thanks Jason. I did a search, but only came up with the photo for some reason. Operator error I'm sure. I think the WP cars were used in similar service.

I saw that one when it came out . . . and I may just pick one up even though it's out of era for me . . . 8)

I should be noted that all three should have 9' doors and one of the WP cars should have a different end (the different end according to a TO thread).

Yeah, way out of era for me too.
I would imagine, based on the stencil, that it was probably something pressed into non-interline company service at some point long after its revenue life was over.

Also saw on BLW site that N Scale Enthusiast has spent grain boxes now available, should be right up your alley, Dave!

Unfortunately, I am a Schlitz and Pabst guy, and those were for Miller. I might have to pick one up for an unscheduled stop on the Beer Line!

Agreed. Still cool.
