Seeing various pictures of these corrugated-side PS cars, I note some have skirts still on, some off, by 1965. When did the NH start deskirting them, and was it a hit-or-miss deal car by car? Having no skirts will make kitbashing these things a WHOLE lot easier.

It depended on when the cars were shopped. There was no rhyme or reason. Same scenario for the Bradley cars.

W, in general what year did they start the removals? I've seen pics from 1952 that had some skirtless cars.

It started as soon as the cars were shopped, well before the New Image paint scheme was applied. You will have to refer to photos from the time period you are modeling to verify the configuration of the majority of the cars at that time.
