Also noted the NYC Grand Central anniversary set.  Wonder what 2-8-2 they are using for it.

"Oh scissor gates! "

Laser cut wood... not as nice as a modeler might think, if what folks on the N-scale Varnish (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/N-scaleVarnish) list have said is true.  I would recommend the scissor gates produced by Rapido, part #102056...

They can be found on this page on the Rapido website but am unsure what dealers may be carrying it...

I really like that civil war era storehouse kit.

Not for ACW stuff, but it's so wonderfully generic. I swear I've seen 100s of buildings that look just like it, but that I never "notice" because they're so nondescript.

Good stuff Joe!

Re scissor gates: agreed that the ones available from MT for some time now were a bit crude....these are advertised as "NEW". Are they? Are they better? Can't tell from picture....

...(I) do not understand why so many model railroaders view the world as if their  "glass is always half-empty."

Hmm... my bourbon glass
is (hic) either half full or
(hic) empty...

I started this topic because I am delighted that Micro-trains released another Baltimore and Ohio heavy weight passenger car.   PERIOD.
Then the topic is diverted to the lack of a link to the BLW website and other critical comments.

I sincerely wish this forum could operate on the principle that  "IF YOU CANNOT SAY ANYTHING NICE, do not say anything."
I am approaching 73 years of age and do not understand why so many model railroaders view the world as if their  "glass is always half-empty."

Share the delight by posting a link. Much like you hate it when everyone replies posting a picture...with the picture, many folks here hate it when someone makes a post referencing a website without a link.

There was no mal intent in my post nor was there in CBQ fans post, merely making it a point that if you make a reference, provide a link. It allows others to more effectively share in your joy.

Roger,
Just from the title of the thread it looks like it's the next "the monthly MT release thread"  where everyone has something to say, good or bad.

My comment was geared towards a rule on the old A Forum I did not care for.  Simple as that!

That would sure put the kibosh on some rather pertinent, serious discussions, like couplers, would it not? That's one way to make the slinky effect go away, I suppose.
