That's cool.  Always nice to see collaboration between manufacturers that result in unique products.

Don't know anything about these cars.  Kinda looks like a waffle side.  Why the name?

Just boxcars with load restraints and waffles to hold them...  But I wonder if there is some clever manufacturing trick involved in placing the waffles???  The price is pretty reasonable.

Could this be a way to get more waffle side cars????

Very slick.  I'm amazed these can be offered at that price, given the labor I'm imagining must be involved.  Chalk up another one for the small guys.

Good to see body mounts and decent wheels also.  What years were these used?

shows NEW 11-72.  Looking closely, the WHEN EMPTY RETURN TO SP AGENT EUGENE OREGON will have me purchasing at least one...

If these are half as good as they look in pdf, maybe we will see Southern Waffles sooner then later . . . . and I may have to get one or two to dip and paint.

I was thinking that, except those waffles could come off in solvent...

My thoughts exactly! But if they do them in Southern I'll spring for a few.

Cheers,

From Pat:

There was a typo in Yesterdays email news. Sorry.

The correct price for the Rio Grande FMC Woodpacker box cars is $28.95 each.

(still I'll spring for one!)

Depends on what you use to strip them - I suspect they will have some form of CA holding them on, and if so, then my favorite 91% iso stripping bath won't touch the etchings.
