I'm surprised there hasn't been anything on the board yet about this weekend's Timonium show.
Is everyone going, or has the IRS taken all your money? :P
I'm be there with BANTRAK on Saturday; we're going to have our normal 50x50 layout and I'm told we're back in the center hall, after being in the north hall with all the tin-platers last show.
See you there...

But I'll be swinging by for a bit on Saturday.

Ed,
You can spend the 6% the state won't be getting in July.
Or did you get hit with the new millionaire tax?
I'll be there Friday and Sunday.
I'm be earning points for Louisville on Saturday.

Will be there with three tables under the PRR "Merchandise Service" box car banner.
Will have my N scale collection there for dissolution... over 800 pieces of rolling stock and locomotives... InterMountain, Bowser, Red Caboose, MicroTrains, Atlas, Precision Craft Models, etc. Everything must go!

Not this time ..

No Go for me either. Too busy with an IT conference all next week.

Hope to be there Saturday morning. Ed - hope to see you, I have those 2 books on original Conrail power to show you.

Oh yeah that's right.
Bob, give me a call when you're leaving if you don't see me. Maybe we can grab lunch or something. I'll PM my phone #.

Yeah, that tax was BS from start to finish. Good riddance to bad rubbish. But I'd just tack it on to the top like sales tax, so it'd be largely pass through. More annoying than anything else.
I feel like I got hit by the millionaire tax, but in reality I was just not withholding enough at the ol' job. At least the "refund" will give me back most of it. But ouch, sure hurts to see all that leave the bank account!

I will be there with GF.
The IRSter Bunny did not leave me any rotten eggs this year. I had expected some, but a small offset was large enough to save my posterior.
You can bash the District of Columbia all that you will, but we do not have Governour OWE'Malley to try to get us into a contest with TAXachusetts.
We do, however, have other problems with Fenty............

What do you think? Maybe I'll run next time.

nice DGS sticker badge - those are everywhere in downtown - they just "fall off" visitors. that's some real security.

MARRS is running HO at this show, and I have other stuff I need to do Saturday.
So I'll probably be up there for a few hours on Sunday, but I won't be there the whole time like when we run N. (October's the next time for that.)

Geez, while moving all the boxes towards the loading dock for the show I found a box I had forgotten about...
An 8-arch, 4-track Rockville Bridge kit from Model Railroad Stoneworks!!!
Anyone interested?
-
If I was old enough to drive I'd be there. :-\ ;)

Many thanks to all who stopped by the Merchandise Service spread. It seemed like the Northern Virginia NTRAKers -- many of whom frequent this forum -- made me their "vendor du jour" today... I appreciate all the business guys!!!

Oy, sounds like you're my replacement as the Railwire's Youngin'.

So .... What's the scoop??
Let's hear the ranting, the stories, the finds, etc.

Kind of an unusual show this time...
They only used the center and south halls this time; they didn't have enough interest from dealers to rent the north hall. Several prominent dealers were missing, including Greenway Products and Scenic Express. BANTRAK and the O-Scale High-railers were set-up in the center hall, and there were a bunch of layouts in the south hall which is normally almost 100% dealers (they took up almost 1/2 the floor space).
So this show was really light on dealers. I was only there on Saturday this time (wedding to go to on Sunday) and the crowd seemed very light. It was supposed to rain most of the day Saturday; instead we got a sunny day in the mid-70's, which I'm sure hurt the crowd. Based on some comments I heard, I think things were really slow for most dealers.
My purchases were extremely limited this show, because in the rush to get all my Ntrak stuff together and get out of the house Saturday AM I forgot my train money, so I was limited to what cash I had in my wallet.
BANTRAK of course had a great layout (of course I'm a bit bias on that point), and I managed to actually run a 7 engine (4 point & 3 mid-train) - 188 car coal train around it. ;D

due in part the cost of gas and my lack of money for trains i decided to not go to the show. i am looking forward to the Bedford N scale weekend in August, but the Timonium show seems to be slipping - maybe because there was a show 8 weeks ago?

The April and June/July editions are usually pretty sparse, with April typically being the worst. October is almost always good, and January/February always rocks. They're the one's I'm more likely to go to.
