Neat.
Those 1001s don't make it down this way often. I miss them.

Damn, you go out and find some real good subject. Spent some time on CSC at the Laurel station yesterday and nothing camt thru!

Well, not to be outdone, on my to Bethany Beach yesterday, I stumbled across the empty coal train from the Indian River power plant headed west. After speeding precariously through some mobile home parks in Delaware, this was the best I could come up with.

I actually lept from my car and climbed up onto the roof to get this shot because the corn was so high. It looks like there's one or two of those BNSF reefers on the front of the train. (Mmmm, maybe a convertible isn't such a good idea!)

1123 was loading and on line in consist. You loose your wheel slip warning when isolated, but if used on line, that engine has a good chance of tripping the ground relay (for a high voltage ground) before getting to where its going. Then its back to the shop. Those old switch engines often do very poorly in sustained use on a grade. Though this line probably didn't have any grades. still a poor practice.

Was that yours that day?
